Overview of the Series:
God’s love for us is truly Untamed. Through a three-week series, each week deals with a powerful element of God’s love. In the first week, we will look at Zephaniah 3, drinking deep of a Scripture showing us that God rejoices of us with gladness and that He is looking to silence us with His love. In the second week, we will look at a portion of 1 John to see how the untamed love of God should change us. Such an immense love must have an impact on us. The last week, we will look at Luke 15, on our anniversary to remind us of the Pray for One concept embedded into our church. Here we will remember the Untamed love of God is a love of pursuit. He desires you as well as all of humanity.
The Win for the Series:
For our people to drink deep of God’s love. What does a deepened understanding of God’s love for us lead to? Worship. So the actionable win is a deepened life of worship motivating our “Give of Yourself” value.
Tools for Going Deeper
- A Memory Verse: See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. ~1 John 3:1
“What happens when we stop avoiding difficult people and simply love everyone? In his wildly entertaining and inspiring follow-up to the New York Times bestselling phenomenon Love Does, Bob Goff takes participants life-altering journey into the secret of living without fear, care, constraint, or worry. The path toward the outsized, unfettered, liberated existence we all long for is found in a truth as simple to say as it is hard to do: love people, even the difficult ones, without distinction and without limits. Driven by Bob's trademark hilarious and insightful storytelling, Everybody, Always reveals the lessons Bob learned - often the hard way - about what it means to love without inhibition, insecurity, or restriction. From finding the right friends to discovering the upside of failure, Everybody, Always points the way to embodying love by doing the unexpected, the intimidating, the seemingly impossible. Whether losing his shoes while skydiving solo or befriending a Ugandan witch doctor, Bob steps into life with a no-limits embrace of others that is as infectious as it is extraordinarily ordinary. Everybody, Always reveals how we can do the same.”
“In God is the Gospel Piper passionately argues that the good news of the gospel is that we are given the greatest gift imaginable: God himself.”
